They want the cool icons for their MSN, BUT

Don't be fooled by Scareware
Scareware is a type of malware that trys (or succeeds in some cases) to trick you into purchasing software to fix your PC or laptop, you actually end up downloading useless and potentially dangerous software.
FaceBook Scams
Everyone I know has facebook, even my kids have facebook! it is supposed to be the place to talk with friends, share photos and spy on old schoolmates.
Unfortunately it’s also the place to get infected with computer malware and nasties. The most common infection is the Koobface worm, usually seen as some sort of video or picture offer
“Check out this Paris Hilton video!”
“I caught you on a secret cam!”
Click on the video attachment, and you get instructions to load a viewer for the video, usually Flash Player. If you agree to download the viewer, your computer gets infected with all sorts of nasty things.
